FAQ

Breathwork

What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is a system of conscious, connected, and circular breathing that helps us connect with the body, break free from trauma, fears, phobias, stress, and cultivate inner balance.

How is Breathwork different from other Breathing modalities or meditation?

It is a more active practice than meditation and has a lot of physical and emotional work given and supported by the Breathwork Practitioner.

Is Breathwork safe?

It is perfectly safe for most people. However, if you have specific medical or psychological issues, it is a good idea to consult a healthcare professional.

How often can I do it?

Depending on your needs. You can do it from once a week to daily, depending on your intention and the type of practice.

How does one feel during or after a Breathwork session?

During the session you may feel tension, release, tears, or euphoria. Afterwards, you usually feel peace, clarity, and relief.

Which are the benefits of Breathwork?

• Reduction of fears and anxiety • Relief from trauma • Release of emotions and limiting beliefs • Better concentration and clarity • Improved sleep • Connection with the authentic part of myself • Joy for life

Do I need experience or special preparation to get started?

No. Anyone can start, without prior experience.

Can Breathwork help with anxiety or depression?

Absolutely. Research and empirical evidence show that it can reduce anxiety and bring greater emotional stability.

Can it help with sleep?

Yes. Breathing helps to relax the nervous system and put the body into a state of calm.

Does Breathwork help with physical pain or chronic illnesses?

In many cases, it relieves chronic tension and pain, as it brings more awareness and relaxation to the nervous and muscular system.

Can it help manage mental trauma?

Clearly! The whole process is done safely and with proper guidance. Breathwork can allow the release of traumatic experiences that have been stored in the body for many years, sometimes even since the day we were born.

How can it help improve concentration or creativity?

It clears the mind, relieves mental "noise" and opens space for new ideas and flow.

Are there any contraindications or people who should not do Breathwork?

Yes: people with cancer, heart disease, pregnancy, epilepsy or serious mental illness need special guidance or medical approval.

Is Breathwork a spiritual practice?

It can be. For some it is simply a wellness tool, for others a means of inner connection and self-awareness.

Is it related to yoga or Buddhism?

It has common roots with traditional breathing practices (e.g. Pranayama), but does not belong to any belief system.

Is it scientifically proven?

Yes, there is clinical research and scientific studies that show that breathing techniques reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance neuroplasticity. ([Sources: Harvard Health, NIH, Cleveland Clinic, Healthline, AWCIM])
